I Have a Way with Words
This is fantastically mind-boggling to me. 3! Women! A day! are murdered by men in the USA, domestic violence shelters stay filled to capacity all around this country with women fleeing violent husbands or boyfriends. It is INSANE to say or believe that talking about this and trying to change this means you hate trans […]
Look what one of my students got me! Totally made my day. I have Sesame Street stuff all over the classroom and wear a Sesame Street tee-shirt at least once a week. I am a HUGE Sesame Street fan so this totally made me feel seen and appreciated. What a kind thing to do. I […]
Margarita Satini was a civil activist for Utah’s Pacific Islander community. She passed away from Covid-19. May she rest in peace, and may her activism inspire us all. The world requires us to be civically engaged, indeed. I keep drilling this into my students’ heads. You need to learn to think critically. THAT is why […]
20 years later this still makes my heart hurt. Rest in Peace to all the victims of 9/11.
Any time I talk to conspiracists I ask, Ok so who is behind it and what is their motivation? 9/10 they won’t answer, because of course the next question is going to be: Ok so show me the evidence. The 1/10 there is an answer, it is 100% the Jews (yet with zero evidence). Seriously, […]
Evil never sleeps. But they will probably be allowed to do this, because just like with women, children are not protected by the 14th amendment. LOL I had to do it! Butler’s book, one the best books I have ever read, was published in 1998. Very prescient: “The novel is set against the backdrop of a dystopian United States that has come under the grip of a Christian fundamentalist denomination called “Christian America” led by President Andrew Steele Jarret. Seeking […]
I joined Vocal a while back as another avenue to showcase my writing but haven’t really done anything with it because I’ve been so busy writing, working, mired in grief since my brother passed, dealing with my health issues, and just LIFE but I recently saw a post on facebook about a Vocal writing challenge […]
From nasa.gov: To enhance participation and engagement in NASA’s Earth science investigator community, NASA’s Earth Science Division is seeking feedback from faculty members, staff, and administrators of Minority Serving Institutions. The Request for Information, or RFI, offers an opportunity for the community to provide information to NASA about potential interest in affiliating with one or […]
Schools still do this BTW. In 2021, with a pandemic still raging, with kids only coming in to buildings a few days a week. Still policing girls’ clothes. What a strange world we live in…girls in the USA today have to endure this while seeing female Olympic athletes on the world stage get fined for […]
