These photos were taken about 2 weeks apart. The first one (me in the maroon tee) was on my birthday, mid-January. I had a serious health emergency mid-Decemberish, almost died, all that, but was more or less recovered by Christmas, have mercy. Back at work after the holdiday break and though still dragging a bit, felt recovered. I felt ok. I see now just how unwell I still was, because the second pic (me in gray hoodie) was taken a few days ago and shows how much better I am. I not only feel recovered, I look recovered.

It Was My Birthday

I remember for the birthday pic seeing how dry-faced I was and putting on lotion before but my skin still looked bad, and then putting on eyeliner to kinda disguise the dark patches under my eyes. That wasn’t smudged eyeliner y’all, that was my skin. I was down bad! as the kids say today. But I am doing much, much better. I can’t say enough about how well Brian and the kids took care of me and keep seeing about me. It is important to have people who love you to surround you and take care of you when you are unwell. Anyway, me and my raggedy heart survived another year, and made it through the coldest January since 1873! May 2026 continue to go up from here, for us all.
